YPF says it would bid for any assets that Petrobras (PBR) wants to sell in Argentina, given the importance to the local energy market. PBR has said it would seek to raise as much as $14.8B through asset sales and restructuring to fund deepwater oil discoveries in Brazil, including a sale of its Argentine controlled companies.

Bidding would be a big improvement for Argentina. Usually they just expropriate what they want. Ask Repsol!

PBR had best plan to sell its Argentine assets for like 5 bucks total, especially since YPF has no cash.

It still might be a good deal considering that the Argentine government makes the mafia look honest.
