Yet to be felt because most parts are shipped by boats, the impact from the shutdown in Japanese manufacturing will hit the auto industry full force around mid-April. Many workers will be told to stay home, and buyers will face higher prices and fewer choices.

    AP reports: "Experts warn that since many of the parts being shipped out of Japan will be radioactive for many years, and since some of these parts have already made their way into cars in parts of the world, the only responsible thing to do is to shut down the use of automobiles in addition to banning nuclear power."

    Except somebody in the administration is probably considering it. It would lessen pollution and global warming and keep the seas from rising. So it may be a good idea.
