Japanese voters are going to the polls today, with the conservative LDP expected to win a big majority in the powerful lower house of parliament. While LDP leader Shinzo Abe is in favor of more powerful monetary easing, Yale economist Stephen Roach doesn't think it will pull Japan out of its deflationary funk. Rather, "Japan needs a lot of structural repair to really break the logjam in a structurally impaired economy," says Roach.
