If Super Saturday doesn't live up to expectations this year's holiday shopping season could be a disappointment, according to retail watchers. Last year, 24% of all holiday sales were wrung up in the last ten days before Christmas - a mark that may need to be exceeded this year by department stores in particular. Look for a rush of promotions and gimmicks heading into the stretch run similar to Gap's (GPS) 50% off all sweaters deal or Macy's (M) 48-hour straight shop-a-thon.
