Sterne Agee weighs in on Deckers Outdoor (DECK -1.4%), telling clients the firm's Ugg business will improve in the second half of 2013 with better products on tap. It's a far cry from the call of other firms out with alarming warnings on sales for this year. Not only is Ugg demand viewed as weak with temperatures mild across the U.S. so far this winter, there is also some concern on whether or not Ugg boots are still on-trend.

  • Just heard a commercial on the radio advertising "8,000 pairs of Ugg boots in stock!" If that doesn't scream the ending of a trend, then I don't think anything will.

  • Which city do you live in - Miami or Minneapolis?

Which shoe store - Payless or Nordstrom?

How credible is the store - do they have 8,000 pairs of Air Jordan, too?

    Enquiring minds want to know...

  • The best way to check is actually to go and see if they are really UGGs. I went to the mall yesterday night and saw some UGGs on sale for about 10-15% discount.

  • Just look around.

I'd say 1/3 of all the shoes women are wearing are Uggs. FAD? It's ubiquitous.

They are incredibly comfortable, high end, luxury item. Maybe things are absolutely bonkers this year but then again... the stock price is reflecting a bankrupt business.

Uggs IS the premium boot brand. Kids don't want some off brand cheap version.
