As Facebook halts a mobile ad network trial, eBay (EBAY) says it's giving up on selling ads within its mobile apps. Ebay's marketplace is inherently a cash cow and only via monumental management screwups that Paypal's growth has eclipsed it.

Bonzo, Bozo or any other clown could have managed Ebay better than John Donahoe & Co. these last few years of subpar growth and easily maintained Ebay's former pre-eminence over Amazon.
