Lawmakers are becoming increasingly more fearful that the country going over the "fiscal cliff"...

Lawmakers are becoming increasingly more fearful that the country going over the "fiscal cliff" in nine days. With the president and John Boehner - the two key negotiators - out for the Christmas holiday and Congress in recess, the will be only a few days next week to act before the deadline. "It's the first time that I feel it's more likely that we will go over the cliff than not," says Senator Joe Lieberman. "If we allow that to happen it will be the most colossal consequential act of congressional irresponsibility in a long time, maybe ever in American history," he says.

"If we allow that to happen it will be the most colossal consequential act of congressional irresponsibility in a long time, maybe ever in American history"....Some would say that the most colossal act of congressional irresponsibility was getting into the mess in the first place. It's over a decade in the making, you can't fix a spending problem by just getting a credit card with a higher limit.

Joe, this is a *teachable moment* for all taxpayers (or, more accurately: new, soon-to-be taxpayers)

"Congressional irresponsibility"? Who is on the beach in Hawaii taking a $40MM vacation?"

Joe, I'm sorry, but you participated in the most irresponsible act by helping spend the nation into 16 Trillion of debt.

Since Obama ran off to Hawaii and is spending MILLIONS in taxpayer dollars to fund his luxurious vacation (he's real man of the people LOL), the Fiscal Cliff must not be too important to him.

    Actions reveal more than words.

Doesn't much matter when Congress isn't going to pass anything.

I say let him stay there until Congress manages to pass a bill.
