Desperate for relief on inflation, China is resorting to stricter controls, the NDRC becoming a revolving door of companies brought in and ordered not to raise prices. Note to China from the U.S. circa the 70s: price controls may temporarily suppress prices, but do nothing to reduce inflation.

    Or they can run commercials telling their citizens not to be piggy. Anyone remember those from the '70's?

    Maybe they can get really ridiculous and bring back Gerald Ford's WIN (Whip Inflation Now) buttons.

    I agree this type of controls are bound to fail. Of course, I'm not aware of the lengths China may go to enforce the law.
