Duke Energy's (DUK -0.3%) International arm has acquired CGE Group's Iberoamericana de Energia Ibener S.A subsidiary in Chile for for $415M. The transaction includes two run-of-river hydroelectric powerplants - Peuchen and Mampil - with combined installed capacity of 140 megawatts. DUK has been operating in Chile since July, when it acquired the 240 megawatt diesel generating Yungay plant, making it the fourth largest country in terms of generating capacity for it's international operations.
