Marvell (MRVL -3.5%) is adding to the 11% decline it saw yesterday after Pittsburgh jury awarded Carnegie Mellon $1.17B in damages in a patent infringement suit against the chipmaker. Likely playing a role is a downgrade to Market Perform from JMP: the firm is worried about the impact of the verdict on Marvell's balance sheet, notes other lawsuits also exist, and (unsurprisingly) says checks indicate PC demand is soft.
