Renewable chemicals and fuels company Amyris (AMRS -6.3%) sinks after saying it's sold around 14M shares, totaling about $42.25M in a private placement. The transaction included $37.25M in cash and the conversion by Total Gas & Power USA, SAS of $5M from an outstanding senior unsecured convertible promissory note. Separately, it adds that its industrial fermentation facility in Brazil has successfully begun producing Biofene, the company's brand of renewable farnesene.
