Vice-President Biden took the Democratic lead in fiscal cliff negotiations overnight and he and Senate Minority Leader McConnell made "major progress" towards a year-end deal, reports Politico. Obstacles remain say sources, most notably the opinion of the other chamber of Congress.

Doesn't matter one bit. The extreme right in the house have already shown they will not vote for any tax increase.

So this new deal in the Senate better not have any tax increases or nothing has changed.

This is an odd one. Biden is being thrown out there in order to protect our Choomer-in-Chief who needs political cover in order to maintain his status as American Secular Saint.

AP is reporting that Biden mentioned in the negotiations that "youse 'Publicans best watch yo back or else we'ze gonna put 'chall back in chains."

You see, Biden represents the best compromiser the Democrats have. He's a statesman who knows how to tone down his rhetoric. Just the man to heal the divisions.

Biden was there, the last time a mega tax deal was cut. Credentials, Tony, they matter.
