More on the iShares price hikes: Mostly targeted for higher fees is the manager's line of single country ETFs - Brazil (EWZ), Japan (EWJ), Australia (EWA), Hong Kong (EWH), Canada (EWC), and Singapore (EWS), just to name a few of the more popular ones.

    This is the first I have heard of this. I assume we will receive information regarding the details.

    Held EWZ for few years. This was a disappointing year and will see what happens in the first quarter, 2013. No real improvement noted - will certainly move on!

    At anytime when possible, I substitute Vanguard and State Street ETFs for higher priced issues as iShares. Hopefully others will do the same and the message will resound in the boardrooms of those that take advantage of all of us.

     

    What an inauspicious point in time to hike fees for little more than bookkeeping functions. BTW, reading John Bogle's wonderful treatise, The Little Book of Commonsense Investing, is empowering as to the degree that costs matter ... tremendously over time.
