At this stage in the economic recovery and bull market, "this is the stage where small caps start to take off," so fund manager Robert Natale says investors should focus on small-cap growth stocks such as American Capital Strategies (ACAS), Jamba Juice (JMBA), Morton's Restaurants (MRT) and Incyte (INCY).

  • I think there's still a good 20-30% upside in the next year or two in large caps as well. But after Obama is re-elected, watch it all come crashing down to multi-year lows in 2013.

    This might be true in a normal recovery. But this recovery has been anything but normal.

     

    And yes, mattyw, 2013, the first year after an election is the most dangerous one.

     

    But "2009" also started a year early.

    I wish I could disagree, but I will stick with nominal take-off, barely.
