GM (GM) CEO Rick Wagoner defended its focus on SUVs and light trucks by claiming that the Japanese made similar mistakes: "Is it the US manufacturers who are stupid? I don’t think so." Light trucks, however, made up 52% of GM’s US sales last month, vs. 34% for Toyota (TM).
