If it's a day ending in 'y' it must mean another milestone for silver, whose now panicky rise must be starting to make even the biggest bulls a bit edgy. The metal hit a new all-time high of $49.82 overnight before falling back a bit, now up just 6.7% at $49.18.

Based on relative value, one oz of gold will always buy a good suit ($1500 - $2000) and 15,000 oz of silver will buy the average US home (currently about $175,000). In my book, gold has a little way to rise, and silver a long way to fall (based on the current value of the dollar.

Of course, as in any bubble, that fall in silver could be days. weeks, or even years away.
