Lexmark (NYSE:LXK) has acquired Acuo Technologies, a provider of content management, data migration, and archiving software for medical images, for $45M in cash. Acuo's products will be integrated with those of Lexmark's Perceptive Software unit. It's the latest in a string of acquisitions (I, II) made with the goal of lowering Lexmark's reliance on a declining, margin-compressing printing business, and becoming a major player in the market for corporate document-management software.
