Four years after they abandoned their joint venture, Sony (SNE) and BMG have teamed up to bid for iconic music label Parlophone and other EMI assets from Universal Music. The Vivendi unit is being forced to sell the labels by the EU following its $1.2B acquisition of EMI's recorded music division last year. Universal hopes to earn over $400M from the sales.
