The top rebel military commander again requests advanced weaponry - anti-tank missles, attack helicopters, and ships with torpedoes - to help in its fight against Gaddafi. Until now, allies have only supplied "non-lethal" aid to the opposition. Defense ETFs: ITA, PPA.

I was thinking that Tomahawk and Hellfire missiles were pretty lethal. I seem to recall us shooting off several hundred million dollars (and counting) of those on behalf of these people. Or does it only count if they get their hands on the high-tech stuff themselves so they can use the leftovers later to kill Americans with?

    KMI,
I agree! Of all the mouthpieces Trump has made I have agreed with his opinion that we use our military might with a more mercenary end. You want our help in deposing dictators we want your oil to repay it. We can continue to spend monies world wide to fight everyone elses wars to our bankruptcy OR we can expect repayment for our expenses. My biggest concern in this approach is for our troops. I am adamently opposed to sending american troops to die for this end.
Perhaps sending them sensible weaponry with discreet devices to remotely detonate/destroy them should they be turned against us is something that should and needs to be considered before sending them.
WHAT do they need ships with Torpedoes for? Yes, they have a coastal exposure but COME ON!

As I said before, the U.S. government's policy of getting involved in military action when the voters begin to get out of control is very evident. Gotta get the public's patriotic juices flowing and forget about the real problem! No matter the cost of American lives and the terrible addition of monumental debt...... Jeesh! What a way to run a country. What ever gave the politicians the idea that they have the right to run other sovereign nations? I say NO to all this waste of American lives!
