The late-afternoon pop in SandRidge Energy (SD +3.8%) shares is attributed to ongoing M&A speculation following recent activist investor activity led by TPG-Axon, which is pushing to oust SD's board, unlock value by putting the company up for sale, and challenging the company's updated bylaws.

TPG is trying to take the value in SD and give it to the owners, rather than the CEO and his family.

Last year this was thought to be a $12.00 stock. What are the chances that enough value will be unlocked to get anywhere close to that.

If TPG wins the proxy vote...I would bet $10 to $12. within 6 months or less. The CEO has bloated overhead costs, too many employees, and family members getting rich from Sandridge. The CEO alone takes a $25M annual salary, whether the stock goes up or tanks to zero. The CEO has the BOD in his pocket....all hand picked by him.

Peter - probably zero to none...
Glad they are sticking up for us stock owners and not the darn CEO. There only pay and incentive should be stock shares unable to be sold for a period of time - with maybe some monetarily supplement around some figure that they are not living in La Jolla or someplace

Charlie, they are not sticking up for us stockholders...rather they are trying to make a fortune raising the pps of THEIR stock. We are just along for the ride. "zero to none" is really a negative view, how did you come up with that???? If TPG gets their 51% vote, hold on....the price is heading up.
