Novartis (NVS) CEO Joe Jimenez says the company may make bolt-on purchases of $2-4B but doesn't "need a big acquisition in the short term." Novartis is looking to buy assets to offset patent expirations, with Jimenez saying the firm wants to expand its generics business with respiratory and dermatology treatments, and injectable cancer therapies. The company won't sell its loss-making vaccines ops or other smaller units.
