Jonathan Lebed favorite Synacor (SYNC -6.8%) is having a pretty bad day. The launch of Cisco's Videoscape Unity platform, which delivers fresh competition for Synacor's TV Everywhere solutions by means of a more extensive software package, could be a factor.

Granted I have 7600 shares of Sync dollar averaged at 9 bucks a share. Is there a techy guru or self pro-claimed expert who would like to dissect Synacor's Carbyn HTML 5 technology and explain its inferiority to Cisco's Videoscape Unity platform? Last I heard Sync was doing T.V. everywhere for Dishnetwork and CableOne.. Does Cisco's product have any customers yet, or is Cisco's product unproven in the market place? Seems that Dishnetwork has been doing well since their March 21st headline "DISH Hopper, Second-screen and Mobile Apps Enhance NCAA Tournament Viewing Experience" is there anyway to take the strength of share price for DISH since this headline other than a vote of confidence for Synacor's Carbyn technology?
