Google (GOOG) has done a management shuffle for its Asia-Pac ops. Karim Temsamani, most recently the company's VP of  products and solutions for the Americas, is the new Asia-Pac chief. He replaces Daniel Alegre, who's now responsible for global business partner relationships. The change comes 13 days before Google delivers its Q4 report, and at a time when Asia-Pac is growing in strategic importance to Google, in spite of its China woes.

GOOG is totally dumb here. While AAPL is embracing Chinese consumer market and manufacturing capabilities with open arms, GOOG is fighting a losing battle against Beijing.

China is the most populous nation, 2nd largest economy, and only super power that could rival the U.S. To cede that entire market must be a totally dumb decision.
