Interior Secretary Ken Salazar calls Shell's (RDS.A, RDS.B) series of Alaska problems "troubling" and raises questions about the resumption of Arctic drilling later this year. Salazar, who yesterday ordered a 60-day assessment of Shell’s drilling in the Beaufort and Chukchi seas, says potential damage to the Kulluk rig after it ran aground may force further delays in Arctic exploration.

What else would a dumb/corrupt politician say? Praise oil companies for keeping our homes warm, our cars, trucks, buses, aircraft, our lights lit,and military running? Discovering and using scientific miracles to keep us in fuel? How many folks when they fuel their cars think boy some one drilled in the deep sea to get this to me. Wow from the frozen north to the african deserts and hostile governments and hostile environments. We are so fortunate and so very quick to find fault. Want to bash BP for some rotten egg employees that killed 11 folks go for it. But a broken tow line? Get real.

I agree with you "auto" but for purely selfish reasons, I'm beginning to lean towards the idea that anything that will slow the US oil production growth rate will help Canada's oil exports to the US, and hence the price of Alberta oil (and the share price for Canadian producers). Hard to argue against that line of reasoning.
