Yes, there was a speculative element in higher commodity prices that may have gotten wiped away this week, but the fall in crude has good fundamental reasons. Emerging markets, the marginal bid for oil, are tightening monetary policy, with several stepping up the hard money rhetoric even more this week.

Demand in emerging markets and the bid for oil arent too far off from what they were a few weeks ago right? And stronger demand in the US expected with this recent round of sustained job growth...wouldnt a drop in silver (or maintaining the current drop at least) play more into that..."that" being the appreciation of a fairly devalued dollar?
