More on equity fund inflows: Extreme moves such as what's been seen early in 2013 are somewhat rare (graph) and often a good contrarian indicator for what the market might do over the following 3 months. The evidence, however, remains mixed, says Nomura's Mark Diver, as other indicators he follows are not flashing such bearish signals.

The inflows are merely a reversal of the tax-selling-related outflows nearing the end of 2012. Besides, the capital allocation imbalances, i.e., away from equities to cash, Treasuries, corporate bond and gold, are huge and barely even dented by the level of equity inflows, so far.

These so called 'professionals' just love to talk, when in fact their should keep their big fat yaps shut unless they have something to say based on empirical evidence, which would mean they had a crystal ball.

I saw similar nonsense from two other major broking houses calling for a major correction in June. So either the market is truly a rigged game or these guys just like to talk.

Mom and Pops are being told to leave bonds and return to equities. Watch for the traders to take equities down fast and hard. Take the debt ceiling talks into account and we should see some very good buying ops in the next few months.

If one week of inflows constitutes a "sell signal," what about the many months of outflows?
