Nvidia (NVDA +0.6%) plans to pay $367M for U.K. firm Icera, which makes baseband ("soft radio") chips for 3G and 4G mobile handsets - setting Nvidia up to offer both the key processors in mobile phones. The company says baseband is growing fast, at $15B annually; while Nvidia and Intel (INTC) ramp up in that segment, Texas Instruments (TXN) is getting out.
