Google (GOOG) became a $30B company on the back of search advertising, but the company thinks its other multibillion-dollar advertising business - "display" advertising, which includes banner ads, video ads and in-app mobile ads - will be its growth engine of the future. Yet analyst sentiment remains skeptical of management discipline or that it cares about creating shareholder value.
