Tesla Motors (TSLA +0.4%) showed off its Model X crossover prototype at the Detroit Auto Show to positive critical reviews. The SUV entry is expected to enter the market somewhere in the $60K-$65K range, which would be above the expected pricing of the Cadillac ELR plug-in hybrid model.

One is electric, one isn't. Cannot compare the two.

    Shannon,

There is no comparison when one looks at NO gas expense, no scheduled maintaince costs, no price haggling on features and hov preference. and a cleaner environment. All WIN--WIN!

More sniping about price? How about sniping about range? Is the Cadillac the most expensive SUV?

Maybe a Hummer is a cheap SUV?

Good luck from an investor and a Model S wannabe!

The Caddy is a plug in hybrid sedan, the X an all electric SUV. Not sure why any comparison was made at all.
