The Department of Justice files an antitrust lawsuit to stop H&R Block (HRB -2.1%) from buying do-it-yourself tax preparation software provider TaxACT, saying the deal would "substantially reduce competition" and result in "higher prices and a reduction in innovation and quality." HRB had agreed to purchase TaxACT maker 2SS Holdings for $287M in October 2010.
