Opinions have poured in about Facebook's (FB) Graph Search since its Tuesday unveiling. Merrill thinks it could yield $500M/year in revenue if it averages one ad click/user/year. TechCrunch's Josh Constine argues Graph Search could support ads for a huge array of products, as well as give Facebook a better read on user purchasing intent. The Verge's Tim Carmody, however, is quite disappointed with the initial lack of mobile support. John Batelle: "Facebook needed a service that layered a fresh blanket of value over its core topography. Graph Search is it." (Wired article)

Graph search is DOA. Signs for a lack of focus at FB seem to be multiplying. Their biggest problem is to deal with mobile. This just seems to be a waste of time and resources.

Graph Search is supposed to take years till its ready and we have no info about monetisation or when it will become available on mobile. In fact they do not yet know how to monetise this themselves as Zuckerberg mentioned at the launch.

Is everyone surprise that Facebook search can do same as Googles. They call it search graph so they wont get sue by Google. Smart move. Facebook search is better because you can simplify it, into people, places and things. Google cant do that. Remember Facebook is just starting. It will be like Apple beating Rimm. Google be fearful.

Facebook was receiving criticism for not Innovating lately. For not coming up with new products/services and tools. Now that they did, they are being criticized for not having a fully flushed out business model......

Mark Zuckerberg is not Steve Jobs! He came off as smug and arrogant and out of touch! The hype over "gay cockt"(nothing in
Yiddish) reminds us of the Facebook IPO! The earnings on January 30, 2013 will tell the story! I'm starting to suspect
That the press conference was a desperate attempt to distract from an upcoming bad earnings surprise! Face book's supporters say we are not smart enough to understand how great Graph
Will be! I hope for the investors sake they are right! Mike

Just seems to me that with that many users if zuckerberg can't make money with FB then sanberg should be able to remember she came from google, she's no rookie.

I'm just every day Joe trying to make a buck like everyone else. seems to me that it would take a lot of poor businessmen or business women not be able to monetize that many users.

In the short term Bing might see an upsurge since Facebook will funnel anything graph search can't handle to it.

Just seems to me that with as many users as FB has, if Mark Zuckerberg can't make money then S. Sanberg should be able to. remember she came from google she's far from being a rookie

I would like to see the shot interest of most of the folks making the pessimistic comments on FB. I would not bet against FB.
