After settling into the top spot at Sears Holdings (SHLD), one of Eddie Lampert's largest tasks will be to figure out what to do with the Kmart chain. As Sears has seen its losses narrow on small same-store sales gains, the bleeding at Kmart hasn't improved with initiative after initiative failing and stores falling into disrepair. Unable to compete with dollar stores, Wal-Mart, and Target on prices - Lampert might be tempted to pull the plug entirely.

That may be his next asset sale but he will hold onto certain properties for redeveloping for residential, shopping malls and warehousing for distributing.
He may sell the whole Kmart brand to Walmart.
