Total (TOT +0.6%) hopes to restart the Elgin gas field in the North Sea "in the coming days or weeks," CEO Christophe de Margerie says. Production was halted last March after a major gas leak forced an evacuation. Before the incident, Elgin produced ~130K boe/day, and restoration of its output is crucial for TOT's production targets.

Just recently got into Tot and am wondering if I made the right decision. Seems that most of these types of stocks should be exited sometime in late March or early April when they begin to decline. Mid April to mid May seems to be good for getting back in.

Perhaps a bit early, but it is tough to time markets. Given the nice dividend, I would suggest considering buying more on any market decline.

I've held shares for several years, though a few times sold portions of my holdings to book some profits. Overall Total (TOT) is under-appreciated amongst US based investors, though that might change in the future. Total is a well run company with an active program of investments into expansion.
