Market recap: The S&P 500 closed near breakeven in choppy trading after crossing above 1500 for the first time since December 2007, but Apple's 12% plunge weighed down the Nasdaq. Blue chips were bolstered by a better than expected labor market report, which may bode well for next Friday's payrolls number. Crude oil rebounded on improved economic data from the U.S., China and Europe.
