Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner leaves office today and will be replaced on a temporary basis by his deputy, Neal Wolin, until the Senate confirms a permanent replacement, which is likely to be Jack Lew. Geithner entered office in 2009 at the height of the financial crisis, and oversaw TARP and the bailouts of companies such as Citigroup and GM; he leaves with the economy stable but sluggish, and with the debt-GDP ratio the highest since 1950.

    I'm thinking like youngman.

Follow-up posts please on where Geithner is going and whether he ever becomes a millionaire or a trillionaire (I forgot, is this the week for demonizing billionaires and gazillionaires?) after earning $200,000 a year as our Treasury Secretary.
