In spite of missing Q4 estimates and guiding for a 2%-4% Q/Q revenue drop for Q1 (consensus is for a 2% increase), Lattice Semi (LSCC +13.8%) is soaring today. Below-consensus guidance from larger rivals Altera and Xilinx had served to depress expectations. Also, Lattice's Q4 gross margin of 54.2% was at the high end of its guidance range, and in spite of the expected revenue drop, the chipmaker forecasts Q1 gross margin will be in a range of 52%-56%.
