ABC (DIS +0.2%) says will create a new syndicated talk show with Katie Couric, who will join ABC News. In an unusual concession, ABC will give up an hour of national airtime on local stations so they can buy the new show. Separately, Disney reportedly will cut as much as 20% of its film studio staff as movie production shifts to Marvel and Steven Speilberg’s DreamWorks.
