China is unlikely to impose tariffs on polysilicon imports despite an escalating trade depute that pits China vs. the U.S. and Europe, Maxim Group says, as a tariff would badly hurt China's own firms - including LDK, TSL, YGE, CSIQ - and harm global demand for price-elastic solar. As such, the recent rally in Daqo New Energy (DQ -6.4%) "has gotten ahead of itself."
