Amazon (AMZN) cuts ties with affiliates in Connecticut ahead of the July 1 imposition of a state tax on online purchases. The so-called "Amazon tax" was expected to generate $9.4M in revenue, but the company's move means the measure may be a net loser to state coffers.

All states are looking at this same tax....AMZN will eventually have to move to Canada/Mexico like all other companies have done to keep competitive and make the most money for their CEO's.

Yes, paying ever more tax to politicians is such a noble cause. Who wouldn't want to do that.

And, who do you think benefits from that sales tax not being paid, Amazon executives? Get a clue. When you make a purchase, last time I looked, it has a line under the subtotal saying, "sales tax." guess who gets to pay that?

So, if you want to send more money to our useless bureaucrats, please avail yourself of the donation line on the 1040 tax form, but otherwise I'll be happy to have Amazon and anybody else fighting to keep more of my money away from Government.

P.S. Yes, I'd even be happier paying it to Amazon executives!

At least Bezos knows how to turn a buck.

A gestapo agent at the Health & Humans Services desk would just take that dollar and ram it into a vending machine for more ho ho's and then waddle back to their desk. No one would notice. The entire cubicle farm is full of hard at work clerks, fast asleep.

AMZN is certainly making a statement, which is great! But I'm afraid they'd have to capitulate if more states join the pillaging bandwagon.
