Add Matt Taibbi to the skeptics coming out against Pres. Obama's choice of prosecutor Mary Jo White as new SEC chief, "the woman who helped John Mack get off on the slam-dunkiest insider trading case ever." Andrew Ross Sorkin has reservations too. Perhaps the incestuous nature of the U.S. financial and political system meant no one could be found who hadn’t been on Wall Street’s payroll.

  • I think Elizabeth Warren would have been the right choice, but didn't Obama actively prevent her from taking the helm at her "consumer protection bureau" ?

Anyway, this is a straightforward Scam. Ms White and her husband are multi-millionaire corporate defense lawyers working for the global banks. Mr Obama has quite deliberately set up yet another privileged status for global corporations to be above and beyond the law.

  • How much does anyone want to bet that Obama takes money from WS after he leaves office? Or maybe has Michelle collect it for him.

So so so so so corrupt.

We need people in these roles who are going to break eggs but for the sake of fairness not just self aggrandizement or a resume check.
