Beer drinking in Germany fell to its lowest level since 1990 to extend a long trend of Germans imbibing less for health reasons and with other beverage choices grabbing their attention. The bigger issue: Though beer companies continue to point to emerging markets as potential areas for growth, it's starting to look unlikely that the sluggish demand in developed markets can be turned around.
