Amazon (AMZN +5.2%) is off the AH highs it saw thanks to the margin improvement accompanying its Q4 miss and soft Q1 guidance, but is still up nicely. Deutsche is pleased gross profit (exc. forex) rose 44% Y/Y, and considers slowing unit growth a function of Amazon "choosing not to chase unprofitable retail units," and instead allowing 3rd parties to handle such items. The rally comes as Amazon announces it's building 3 new fulfillment centers in Texas, where it has begun collecting sales taxes. (more) (transcript)
