Facebook (FB) is expanding its e-commerce efforts to include the sale of retailer gift cards on its site: Target, Louis Vitton, Jamba Juice, and Olive Garden are the initial partners. A single gift card can hold balances for multiple retailers. The product represents fresh competition for PayPal (EBAY) and Square's offline payment solutions (I, II). During Facebook's earnings call, COO Sheryl Sandberg mentioned the company is working on a product that can link mobile ads to offline purchases. (more on FB) (Gifts)
