Two research firms split on their chip forecasts but agree Japan's earthquake and tsunami won't hurt that bad. IHS iSuppli raises its earlier call, predicting 7.2% growth to $326B; meanwhile, Gartner cuts its forecast to a 5.1% increase to $315B.
