Warren Buffett (BRK.A) gets back into municipal-bond insurance, with Assurance Corp. writing its first policy in more than 3 years - this on a suburban Dallas development that just happens to have the Nebraska Furniture Mart as an anchor. The unit has written nothing for the past few years as Buffett feels the premiums aren't high enough for the risk.

    This first policy is essentially for one of his own businesses, so he's willing to take the risk (location was also likely a factor). Self insurance.
