Gold miners are outpacing market gains after the morning's unusual call-option activity in several of them, occurring close enough together to look like the work of a large investor or two. Gold Fields Limited (GFI) +3%; AngloGold Ashanti (AU) +2.9%; Barrick Gold (ABX) +1.5%. But Agnico-Eagle (AEM) down 4.3%. Gold futures +0.25% to $1,500 even.

As for GFI and AU, not sure of the bump as South African miners have some significant risks related to nationalization rumors and high costs.
