"I do think consoles are still the go-to," says Activision Publishing (ATVI +0.6%) chief Eric Hirshberg in a WSJ interview ahead of today's Q4 report. Though Activision has released a handful of mobile titles and launched a mobile publishing arm, its efforts on this front have been relatively light. Meanwhile, its console sales have held up better than those of many peers (I, II) thanks to strong demand for its Skylanders titles and related interactive toys. Skylanders Swap Force, the franchise's latest entry, allows users to create custom toys by mixing and matching parts.
