Thus far, Nissan's (NSANY.PK) all-electric Leaf has been outselling GM's pricier Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid. Though with only 3875 Leafs and 2745 Volts shipped over the first 6 months of 2011, neither model can be considered a smash hit just yet. (link via Engadget)

Please keep us updated when either becomes a smash hit.

By the way, you don't want to be in either one if it becomes the smash hit of a semi.

Are there more orders than inventory? Is there a waiting list for these cars?
I talked to someone who traded in his 2008 Prius for $4000 less than he paid for it. Five of the seven Prius' on the lot were presold, one sold the day they arrived, he managed to get the plast one.

Knowing that GM is owned by the govt, are we seeing the real reason behind high oil and gas prices yet? Can't sell the shitty volt with low gas prices now can we?

First year sales for Toyota Prius: 300.

Second year sales for Toyota Prius: 17,700

    3rd year: 15,000.

Lotsa really uninformed comments on Seeking Alpha about these cars.
