Tesla Motors (TSLA +0.2%) is scheduled to report earnings sometime this month with a focus on where the automaker's margins stand and if its production levels are keeping up with previous estimates. CEO Elon Musk jumped into the twittersphere earlier today to rebut a Reuters obituary on the EV industry and should have plenty to say when Tesla reports.

Vico Confino owner of 2 Tesla S sedans.
Re: Reuters obituary on the EV industry.
    Dear Reuters,
Wipe the cobwebs from your eyes and see the EV industry as it really is. You are behaving like naysayers of yesteryear whenever a challenge is made to ICE autos. The day of reckoning has arrived.
I have diligently followed Elon Musk's promises for over two years and have been rewarded with the delivery of my two "S" sedans.
Reuters attempt to "kill the messenger" cannot compete with Tesla being named car of the year and are as futile as trying to empty the ocean with a tea cup.
Short sellers are crying foul, while embryo Tesla stock owners are enjoying the continuing escalation of the stock value.
Hey, loyal followers of Seeking Alpha, don't forget my 80th birthday on March 11, 2013.
    I don't feel a day over 50 when driving my Tesla S.

    You are the man!!!

Has Reuters been bought and paid for by big oil and big business, like Congress???

The Model S and Tesla are automotive game changers.

Has anyone seen how the major manufacturers are all banding together to accelerate Hydrogen Development??

How about Chrysler's new Online Ordering promo?

There is no way that would be happening without Tesla landing such a resounding blow to the market with the Model S.

The reality is that Tesla could easily switch to Hydrogen at any time it becomes a favorable option. Not so easy for the majors to catch up to Tesla's Engineering Excellence though.

I'm letting my Tesla stock pay for my Model X (I want all wheel drive).

You have a very Happy Birthday!!!! Young Man...

Good one Vico. I'm about to take delivery of my own Model S. Confirmed the purchase after the driving experience. TSLA has helped pay for it. My father worked on an electric car for several years in his garage in the 1970's (didn't make it more than a few miles out of the garage). I've always gravitated toward the risk takers, the start-ups, the visionaries who pioneer real change in the face of crowds of doubters. Better inspired than safe. Starting an electric auto manufacturing line in the U.S., in California, in the Bay Area? Against all odds...I'm in.

Tesla has not yet announced the date of their earnings report.

11 February is just an urban legend spreading on blogs and SA. There are very slim chances that Tesla will actually announce today that they will report on Monday.

Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing. Ya gotta love it when Model S owners are making great commercials for them.

Tesla doesn't do any advertising, and they won't have to.

If my arithmetic is correct regarding VIN numbers produced in the last 3 months of the year and the fact that all S's were high-end versions, income should at least quadruple from the previous quarter. This, coupled with Musk's earlier tweet re profitability in the last quarter should panic the naysayer shorts. It will be a fun week.
