Some Intel (INTC +1.1%) news: 1) Intel has invested $6.5M in growing software-defined networking (SDN) startup Big Switch Networks. Intel's motivation: Big Switch's SDN controller allows commodity switches using network processors from Intel and others to replace costlier switches (from Cisco, Juniper, etc.) using proprietary ASICs. Big Switch competes with VMware's (VMW) Nicira unit. 2) CNET reports Asus will launch a 7" Android tablet featuring an Intel Atom CPU later this month.
